Lockheart Filmes and V2 Cinema presents “Beyond the Grave”, the first zombie feature from Brazil.
The first teaser trailer of the film directed by Davi de Oliveira Pinheiro is available here today.
Scheduled for release in November 2nd, 2008, “Beyond the Grave” (aka “Porto dos Mortos”) mixes horror and action in a dark voyage through Brazilian streets, inspired by the seventies films of William Friedkin and George A. Romero and by the spaghetti westerns of Sergio Leone.
"Brazil needs an inventive and sophisticated genre cinema. Horror, science fiction, fantasy and action films are basic in any great country with a popular cinema and in Brazil this is rarely remembered", says the director. Davi de Oliveira Pinheiro directed the short films “The Combat” (2005) and “The Perfect Kiss” (2007). He is also producer of the feature documentaries “Act of Life” (2007) and “Frontier Stories” (2008).
”Beyond the Grave” stars Rafael Tombini playing Lockheart, a tough cop who, aboard his black Maverick, chases Adam (Adriano Basegio) a serial killer in a zombie infested world. In a post-apocalyptic Brazil, he will face the living dead, criminals and his own inner demons.
